I. Captain David William Bowers, of Little Rock, Arkansas, having reported to these headquarters in obedience to instructions from the Trans-Mississippi Department Headquarters, is hereby assigned to duty as Forage-Master, Texas Brigade, Cleburne's Division.
II. It is further announced that Captain Bowers is on the staff of the commanding officer, and will be obeyed and respected according to the rank and duty.
III. Battalion adjutants will ensure that quartermaster sergeants prepare timely reports and requisitions for forage necessary for field and staff horses. Written requisitions will be made directly to Captain Bowers at brigade headquarters.

I. By the authority of the War Department, and upon suitable recommendations and qualifications of previous service, Captain Michael Dan Davison, of Galveston County, Texas, has been assigned to the Second Brigade, Cleburne’s Division.
II. It is further announced that Captain Davison is on the staff of the commanding officer, Second Brigade, and assigned the duty as Brigade Surgeon.
III. He will immediately repair to Headquarters and thoroughly and fully organize the medical department to the benefit of the volunteers of this brigade.

I. In consideration of a long and meritorious service with the military forces in the several states of the Southwest, it is a distinct honor and privilege to announce the addition of Roger L. Johnson as Aide-de-Camp, to the staff of the commanding officer, this brigade.
II. By the authority of the War Department, and upon suitable recommendations and qualifications, he will carry the rank and pay grade of a colonel of infantry and will be obeyed and respected accordingly.
III. Furthermore, he is a confidential officer selected to assist in the difficult and delicate functions of military duties, is attached directly to the person of the general, and will receive orders only from him.

I. In obedience to General Orders No. 1, dated September 23, ultimo, Office of the Commanding General, Cleburne’s Division, Navarre, Florida, the undersigned hereby assumes command of the 2nd Brigade, Cleburne’s Division and establishes headquarters at Galveston, Texas.
II. The following named officers are announced on the staff of the brigadier-general commanding, and will be obeyed and respected accordingly: Major R.J. Crisp, chief-of-staff; Capt. J.S. Butcher, AAG; Capt. F.B. Reedy, Provost Marshal; Capt. R.J. Peck, Ordnance Officer; Capt. J.D. Giuffre, Judge Advocate; First Lieutenant Jim Richards, Quartermaster.
III. Furthermore, being on the frontier, the command within this Military District under my authority is composed of combined arms of all branches, the mounted cavalry led by Brevet Lt. Colonel Edward W. Welch, remains subject to further orders from the major-general commanding division.
